- The role of cutting and spreading tools in emergency response, including: Vehicle rescue, Aircraft rescue, and Structural collapse.
- Risks to be aware of at the accident scene.
- Limitations associated with the use of cutting and spreading tools.
- Challenges faced by personnel operating these tools.
- The components found on a typical hydraulic rescue unit and associated tools.
- Connecting / disconnecting high-pressure hose couplings.
- The importance of knowing the specifications of the equipment used at your station.
- Setting up a practical exercise to demonstrate the correct preparation and operation of the rescue unit, including the spreaders and cutters.
- General inspection requirements.
- Typical daily / after use, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection and maintenance tasks.
