This course is designed to provide learners with knowledge of airport emergency planning principles, including the role of aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) personnel and other airport stakeholders during an emergency at an airport. On completion of this course participants will be able to:

Describe the purpose and importance of airport emergency planning.
Explain the role of the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) and Airport Emergency Committee (AEC).
Identify the key components of an effective AEP.
Describe how an AEP is activated, including emergency classifications and the establishment of an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
Describe the role of each agency / stakeholder involved in responding to aerodrome emergencies.
Describe methods for testing the AEP, including the types of exercises that can be used.
