This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to carry out routine inspections, tests, and maintenance of airport equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. The course is mapped to and aligns with the following international standards:

ICAO Airport Services Manual, Part 1 (Doc 9137), Rescue and Fire Fighting.
NFPA 460 – Standard for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Services at Airports.

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

Identify aerodrome fire protection equipment due for inspection and/or maintenance, including hydrants, fire extinguishers, water supplies.
Determine the type of inspection, test, and/or maintenance required.
Describe the requirements for routine inspections, tests, and/or maintenance of airport equipment.
Explain the process for returning equipment to full operational readiness.
Record results and/or report faults in accordance with organizational procedures.
