About this course

The Maintenance of Markings course addresses surface markings used on airfield pavements, such as runways, taxiways, aprons, and paved airfield roadways.

It describes marking methodologies, methods for assessing marking condition, and ways to increase marking longevity by completing marking maintenance using proper techniques, materials, and equipment.

The course can be taken as part of the Certificate in Airfield Maintenance for those wishing to gain a more complete understanding of airfield maintenance, including best practices for the maintenance of airfield pavements and electrical systems and NAVAIDs, as well as general airfield maintenance, including snow removal, night maintenance, drainage facility maintenance, and grass maintenance.
