About this course

2.0hFree

The 26th ACI World General Assembly in 2016 affirmed the commitment of airports to help combat human trafficking, both through training their own staff in recognizing and dealing with trafficking situations, and by providing information to the public to raise awareness.

The ACI Combatting Human Trafficking course is provided to the global civil aviation community free of charge courtesy of Airports Council International in partnership with Ceventas as part of ACI’s commitment to combatting Human Trafficking.

Welcome to the Combatting Human Trafficking course.

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. It involves the recruitment, transportation, harbouring and/or exercising control, direction or influence over the movements of a person in order to exploit that person.

This course will provide you with an understanding of the key issues and challenges that airports face in relation to human trafficking and explores the knowledge and tools that can be used to raise awareness and combat human trafficking at your airport.

The course explores the role of airports in combatting human trafficking by drawing on the experience of airports that have already taken action and contains materials and advice to assist airports, irrespective of their size or geography, to help play our part in the fight against human trafficking.

We will also recommend a comprehensive approach that involves coordination with airlines and law enforcement agencies such as border-protection and customs agents.

This course is also available in Spanish.
